Empties January 2018

The first empties of the year. It always feels good to finish products up because then you know if you will repurchase them or not.

This post does not go in any order since it is mostly skin care with one piece of makeup. So to get the makeup part out of the way I used up another Cover Girl Clean Matte BB Cream in the shade 520 Light. I liked this so much that I brought a lighter shade to wear during the winter months since it is so simple to put on and there isn't much to keep up with which is great for everyday to work wear. This product is also inexpensive and can be found at the drugstore which is always a plus in my book since I do not have to go out of my way to get a new one.

I used up another Nivea In Shower Body Lotion in the scent almond oil which I love. I go through these like they are going out of style. This item makes putting on lotion so simple because it doesn't feel like an extra step since its in the shower.  If I do not buy this brand I buy others because I love this type of product but this is my favorite brand from the drugstore. I also love the one from Lush but it gets type of expensive but to treat myself from time to time.

I used up my Estee Lauder Resilience Lift day cream which I liked but I wasn't crazy about it to wear under makeup. I liked it for days that I did not wear makeup it was great. When I wore it under makeup it felt heavy and made my makeup steelhead on my face and I didn't like that. This is a so so product for me but I love other skin care products ok ducts they make so I will repurchase from the brand but not no sure about this product.

I used up a perfume by Jordan Sparks named Fascinate. The scents of this perfume are sweet and if I found this or was gifted it again I would enjoy it.

I used up trader Joe's spa natural facial cleansing pads that were tea tree toner pads. I loved this for when I broke out because it helped with my break outs. It claimed my face but helped me get the break out u den control.

This next product Hurts Bees Intense Hydration night cream with Cleary sage  I received in one of my target beauty boxes and I will definitely purchase a full size once I finish some of my other products. This product felt great on the skin. It gave enough hydration without over hydrating or making my skin oily or greasy.

The last two products are from ELF.I used up therefore illuminating eye cream which was light on the skin and felt nice but if you are looking for an intense eye cream this is not the one for you. This just helped hydrate my
eye area . The hydrating gel melt cleanser I was not a fan at all. It had a fake scent of rose and didn't seem to work very well with water proof makeup and also left a flim on my face .I rather used ponds because
it works better with water proof makeup and it's cheaper .

Summer 2017 Empties (June & July)

This summer has been a very enjoyable summer in the sun. The weather has been a little bit crazy in New York but nevertheless I have been able to use up a lot of products. Half of the products I'm about to talk about are makeup items which I am surprised myself  have gone through this many in only two months. HAIR

Herbal Essences Naked Volume Conditioner- This was a great cooling conditioner free of parabens. The scent of this conditioner is white grapefruit with mint extracts. It was a light weight formula and gave a little bit of volume but nothing on a high level. This is a great product for using after a clarifying shampoo.

BATH & BODY

Lush Bubbly Shower Gel- This was a great body wash. It had a nice lather and also the scent was devein. If you are not a fan of orange scents then this is not the body wash for you because it leaves a nice light orange scent behind after getting out the shower.








Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion (Very Dry Skin Almond Oil)- I love this stuff. I have used countless and countless of bottles of this product. It retains moisture and has a light weight feel to it and is simple to use.
I did repurchase this product but just in a different scent the purple bottle to use after I finish up my current in the shower lotion by Olay. A lot of brands have come out with this type of product but so far the Nivea in the blue bottle has been my favorite one this far. If you have any recommendations of your favorite in the shower lotion leave it down below I would love to try them out.

SKIN CARE

White Rain Boutique Collection Facial Cleanser & Makeup Remover - This was an impressive face wash for price which can not be beat. This is a dollar tree item but one of the most popular and now I see why. It takes off most makeup but not all. It is a great face wash for the morning time and if you are wearing light makeup that day. It is very gentle on the skin  and has a nice lather. I picked this product up to see what all the hype was about. It is a nice cleanser and I have a few in my stock pile and would not mind to repurchase this product if I came across it at my local dollar tree but morning face wash or the days that I have hardly any makeup on at all.






Soap & Glory Face Shop and Clarity 3-in1 Daily Detox Vitamin C Facial Wash - I love this cleanser for the night time. I double cleanse so this is the second cleanser I use and it has Yuzu Superfruit beads in  it so it helps with the over turn of dead skin cells which means that acne scars fade faster. Since using this product my skin has cleared up extremely. It has come to the point that if I go without this product I can tell the difference in my skin. I use this product Monday through Friday and give my skin a break from it on Saturday and Sunday. I ran out of this product ad repurchased it when it is on sale since it is now found in the drugstore but is more on the pricey side unless is on sale. I currently have a full size in rotation and a full size in my stock pile. Since it is a pricey product for the drugstore I suggest people buy the travel size before the full size since the travel size only cost $4 for a 1oz.






 Laneige Water Bank Serum - This is a nice light weight serum that helps re-hydrate the skin and gives the skin a glow from within. I received this product in a Target Beautybox when it was being sold at Target. Laneige is on of my top Korean product brands. I have also received another product in the Taregt Beautybox before this brand was taken out of Target and put into Sephora. Once I go through a few of my other serums I will repurchase.




Derma e Firming DMAE Eye Lift- This was a nice eye cream. It doesn't feel to heavy on the skin. This eye cream has peptides and help the sign of ageing. It was a travel size product I received from a Target Beauty Box but I will repurchase this product in the future once I go through the other eye creams I have in my back stock.



S.W. Basics Lip Balm in Peppermint scent - This was a great organic lip balm that helped alot with cracked and dry lips. It has cocoa butter, coconut oil, bees wax, peppermint and essential oils. I received this in a Target Beauty box so I  would defiantly buy it again . One of the best organic lip balm I have tired so far since I have been starting to look into organic skincare products.

MAKEUP REMOVER & BRUSH CLEANSER

Swirl + Sparkle in the scent Tasted Marshmallow - This is a great solid cleanser that I use to clean my brushes and my sponges. I received a sample at imats and ever since then I have been ordering online at esty. I always have one on hand no matter if it is a sample or full size.

Almay Eye Makeup Remover Pads- I received this product in a target beauty box. The cotton rounds were not that moist toward the end of the container. They felt nice on the eye and I didn't  have to be rough on my eye to get the makeup off. I just had to leave it there a few seconds and then swipe.

ELF Makeup Remover Pen- This is a holy grail product that I will always have on hand. It has saved me many times when eye liner or mascara smudges and  do not want to take off my whole face and start all over again. 

CONCEALER

L.A. Girl Pro HD High Definition Concealer- This concealer is a great affordable high coverage concealer that doesn't leave the face looking cakey but can be put on over any pimple to cover it up.  I have this product in a darker shade for cram contouring which I also really like.

Sinful Colors Collab with Kandee Johnson

New Year means new nail polish collections. I recently picked up famous Youtuber Kandee Johnson’s partnership with Sinful Colors.

The formula is nice and I can use one to two coats even though these shades are so light they still show up.

I picked up the following shades:

2269 Candy Hearts which is a light baby blue shade

2272 Strawberry Milk which is a light baby pink shade

2270 Kanfetti which is a confetti shade with pink, green, blue, and yellow .

All the shades are matte shades. I paired theses shades with the Wet n Wild base coat and the Essence Nail Art Express Dry Drops on top. I applied the confetti shade on top of the Candy Heart and Strawberry Milk shades. 

January Empies

 

 

I have a big empties this month since it is for the last past two months. I have a little bit of everything. If you want to see the products I used up then keep on reading.

Brush Cleaner

Nyx Brush Cleaner- This product works great for my brushes and comes with more product then Mac brush cleaner comes with for around the same price. Gentle enough on my brushes but gets all the dirt out and leaves them smelling fresh and clean.

Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Multi-Surface Concentrate- Work great on dirty sponges when nothing else works. It also works great on cleaning counter tops and etc. A useful cleaning product to have in your home because its multipurpose.

Makeup Wipes

Yes To Cucumbers Travel size (10 count)- I used up two packs of the travel size packs. They had a strong smell of cucumbers which I didn’t mind but some people do not like fascial wipes to have a scent.  They did work for removing makeup and left my skin with a cooling feeling afterwards.

ELF Makeup Remover Cleansing Clothes (20 Count)-  These worked great. The wipe had enough product on it and also there really wasn’t a strong scent to them. The packaging is also great because there is a flap so the wipes do not dry out.  The price point is great and I will repurchase this product when I run out of the stash I have.

Love & Beauty Grapefruit Cleansing Tissues (30 Count)- These worked fine but had a strong scent of alcohol . This product is good for cleaning swatches but I prefer not to put them on my face cause of the strong smell of alcohol.

Body Prescriptions Aloe Vera Infused Makeup Cleansing Wipes (60 Count)- These wipes I loved the size because they were fairly bigger than most makeup wipes. They also had a nice scent. I would not be able to use them on their own though which was a let-down for me. I would pair it with a cleansing oil and they worked great to remove my makeup because washing my face.   

Oral Care

Lavoris Mouthwash Whitening Rinse- This is a great expensive mouth wash. I always see myself repurchasing the brand of mouth wash because it is not to harsh. I can also use it as a prewash like before I brush my teeth, which helps when brushing since I no longer have wisdom teeth.

I used up two (2) Colgate toothpaste one in the kind sparkling white and in the scent Mint Zing. The clams are that it whitens and helps protect teeth from stains. The other one was from the Max Fresh line in the scent Mint Fusion.  The clams are that it helps destroy nasty odors and fight lingering food aftertastes. I realized that the scent and taste of this product is so strong that I could go without using mouthwash that day and to me I would be okay.

Shower, Body & Hair Care

Avon Exotic Waters Body Spray- This is one of my favorite body sprays from Avon because of the scent. It last long throughout the day that it feels as if you have perfume on and not a body spray. The scent notes are “ Take a dip into paradise and let this fresh tropical fragrance take you away from the everyday. “

Lush bar soap in the scent Sandstone(Sample Size)- This soap was more of a man scent which from time to time is nice. The size I received was of a decent size so I was able to see if I liked it or not and I can say I would not mind buying a full size. It did not leave my body feeling dry like some bar soaps do afterwards.  You can always get samples at the store if you are a little iffy about a product and because of the price you may not want to go all in and purchase without knowing if you will like it or not.

Up & Up Five Blade  (Travel Size)- I received this in a Target Beauty box and the claims are that they are comparable to Venus Embrace. I did really like them and they worked great. I didn’t have to use a shaving cream if I didn’t want to. In the end it can be affordable because I do not always need to buy a shaving cream since the strip has enough product to get the job done.

Tini ME! Gotta Have It Pomegranate Bath Ice Cream (Travel Size)- These worked good and got the job done. I wouldn’t say that they are better than Lush Bath Bombs because I love those but these are more affordable and can be found in Target.  The scent did not last long in the bath and would wear off before I was done in the bath.

Silk Bubble Bath in the scent Cherry Blossom- I love this bubble bath from the dollar tree. It has a gentle formula and doesn’t feel harsh on the skin. The claims on the back show that it helps with your PH balance which if you need that then this would be a very affordable product to use.

Head & Shoulders Dry Scalp Care- This works great and gets the job done. It also smells wonderful because it is made with almond oil. The claims are that it is clinically proven to help restore scalp’s natural moisture and it really does. My scalp does not itch at all when I use this product. I already have another one in my shower. I can’t go without this product.

Olay Brush Head- I used another Olay brush head for my Olay cleansing system. It works just as great as the high end ones do just at an affordable price point.  I replace them every three months. Right now I am using one that I ordered off Amazon which was way cheaper then the actual Olay ones. I paid around $5 bucks for two (2) different type of brush heads and it came in a nice bag. The brush heads are the sensitive kind and the sponge one that is used for makeup application. I will keep you posted on how they work.

You Are Amazing Hello Beautiful Skin Body Lotion in the scent Juicy Grapefruit- This body lotion is paraben free. The scent of this lotion stays on the body for a while that it can replace a body spray or a perfume even. The scent notes are “ Let Your Passions Out with the bright, citrusy essence of juicy grapefruit. Our moisturizing body lotion keeps skin hydrated all day long so you can keep illuminating the world”.

Face Mask

Dabo Eco Life Style Green Tea Essence Mask Pack- This was an okay sheet mask and it brought moisture to the face. The claims on this mask are that the green tea extract has an excellent convergent effect which helps the skin looking clear and clean.  I did not see it help clear up my skin but I can say that the sheet was not too thick but also not too thin at the same time. It was the perfect size for my face and did not slide around.

Sephora Pearl Mask-  This is a great sheet mask . The Sephora ones are by far one of my favorite sheet masks to buy. The perfecting and brightening one is also my favorite type out of this line. The sheets are fiber mask so they are not thin but also not too thick and sit perfectly on the face without sliding off.

Lush The Sacred Truth Fresh Face Mask- he claims on this mask are “ The truth is that fresh ingredients enhance and revive your complexion. Keep your skin in beautiful condition with anti-oxidant wheatgrass, green tea and enzymic papaya”

What's in my Makeup Bag : November 2016

Sometimes when getting ready in the morning to go to work and are putting a full face of makeup I normally want to be able to use products for more then just one thing in my makeup routine. The last past month these are the products I have been using on a daily and are currently in my makeup bag.

Primer

 Elizabeth Arden Matte Moisture Lotion – This lotion I use as a primer because it is like a gel formula and when using this product I do not really need to use a primer on top of it because this lotion helps smooth the skin. To me this is a 2 in 1 product.

Foundation

Bare Mineral Bareskin in the shade 04 Bare Ivory- This foundation is very light weight but also great for everyday since it has SPF 20. It leaves my skin looking natural and doesn’t make my skin look like I have a pile of makeup on.

Concealer

Mac Select Moisture Cover in the shade NC20-  This is a great light weight concealer that brightens up my under eye but also does not cake up.

ELF Stick Concealer in the shade Ivory- This is a peachy corrector concealer. I use this concealer to cancel out my veins on my eye lids. I can also use this concealer to hide dark circles if I end up having any.

Face Powders

BH Cosmetics Studio Pro Matte Finish Pressed Powder in the shade 230- This product reminds me of Mac Studio Fix Powder. I use this powder all over the face to set my foundation. I also use thispowder to set my eye primer.

Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder in the shade 001 Transparent- This powder is great to set all over the face when I do not want to add extra color. I also use this powder to set my undereye area after I have applied concealer. The last way I use this powder is to touch up through out the day after using blotting sheets to control the oily parts on my face but also keep my face from looking super shiny.

 Eye Brows

Wet and Wild coloricon Eye Brow Pencil in the shade 623A Brunettes Do It Better – I use this brow pencil to fill in my brows before I set them with powder.

Ardell Brow Defining Kit- I use this brow kit to set my brows after using the brow pencil. I also use the taupe shade in the kit to contour with. The taupe shade can be compared to the Nyx Taupe blush which is a great gray shade to contour the hallow of the checks with. The last reason I use this kit for is eye shadows. These are great neutral shades to make many eye looks.

High Lighter

Wet n Wild Coloricon Bronzer in the shade 743A Reserve Your Cabana- This product is marketed as a bronzer but it is really a highlighter. It gives the most natural looking glow. I can also spray my brush if I want the wet looking effect. I also use this shade as an eye shadow and to high light the brow bone. This powder can also be used to set my concealer under the eye due to the fact that the powder is close to my skin tone.

Blush

Wet n Wild Coloricon Blush in the shade 833E Mellow Wine- This is a great fall color for the checks. I also use this shade as a pop of color if I want to add it to any eye look.

Lip Products

The only lip liner I have been caring around is a lip liner from Wet n Wild in a berry shade. The 2 lipsticks I have been using is the NYC Get It All Lip Color in the shade 400 Extraordi Berry and the other lipstick is from Rimmel London in the shade 510 Best of The Best which is a red shade.  The last lip products I have been carrying around in my daily makeup bag are glosses. The first gloss is from ELF in the shade 2121 Strawberry and the next gloss is from Milani called Brilliant Shine Lip Gloss in the shade 06 Ravish Raspberry.

Mascara

The mascara I have been using all month is the Tarte Lights, Camera Lashes!

Setting Spray

The setting spray I have been using all month which is a recent purchase is the Wet n Wild setting spray.

Tools

I use a Revlon lash curler. I also carry 3 makeup brushes which are a crease brush, concealer brush and a powder brush. I carry a pencil sharpener which is a must and right not I use a sharpener from Sephora. The last tool I use is blotting sheets and the current blotting sheets I am using are from elf.

What's in my Trash: October 2016

This month has went by so fast and here we are with another empties post.  I have so much to share with you guys this month.  I hope everyone enjoyed Halloween and had a safe one. Stay tune to a post with photos and suggestions when it comes to painting your face for Halloween since there has been a lot of discussions about what is safe and what is not safe to put on your face.  Please leave a comment down below letting me know the products you used up this month.

NON-MAKEUP ITEMS

1.      Palmolive Dish Liquid- I use this to wash my dishes but also to help clean my beauty sponge’s with when I have stubborn stains that do not want to get off but also it helps take off foundation that is not oil free .

2.      Angel of Mine Baby Shampoo- I purchased it at the Dollar Tree and really any baby shampoo works to clean my brushes. I have not found a cheaper way to wash my brushes when I am in a pinch because I tend to use solid brush cleansers but I always order them online so I will use baby shampoo in between receiving new ones.

3.      Lavoris Mouthwash in the Flavor Natural Mint- This is a great inexpensive mouthwash and I will repurchase. It can be found in Walgreen but if you want to save a few bucks you can also pick it up at your local Dollar Tree like I do.    

4.      Colgate Baking Soda & Peroxide Whitening Toothpaste in Brisk Mint Flavor- I like the taste it left my mouth after I rinsed but I’m not to sure how much whitening it did because I did not notice to much of that happening.  I will repurchase Colgate toothpaste just not to sure on that specific one.

5.      Bath & Body Works Wallflower in the scent Caribbean Escape- The notes on the scent are “A tropical blend of melon and raspberry nectar infused with coconut milk” This scent reminded me of my trip to Florida this past month but also of the summer time .

6.      Modesa Cotton Swabs- They worked and got the job done and were inexpensive.

7.      The Body Shop Satsuma Hand Cleanse Gel- This was a great hand sanitizer. It smelled like oranges and I love oranges . It did not smell like alcohol at all which I appreciate that.

8.      Target candle in the scent Strawberries & Whipped Cream – It was an okay candle. I received it as a gift. I did like the scent but it was a very light scent and did not have much throw to it. There were times were I hardly smelled the candle at all but it was burning.

9.      Bath & Body Works Mini Candle in the scent Georgia Peach- I loved this scent for the summer time. It smells like straight up peaches. This little candle could full up the whole room and then some like the throw on it was great but being so small I was surprised.

1.   Clinique Clarifying Lotion Clarifiante Number 3 for Combination Oily skin- This was a great toner. It did not have such a strong smell and was able to get any makeup left over from my cleansing off but also it did not burn my face.

1.   Lush Bath Bomb in Ickle Baby Bot- This was a very nice and relaxing bath bomb. It gave this spa feel to my bath but also helped when I was feeling sore. When using this bath bomb I feel ready for sleep after. I tend to use a few of these during the fall and winter season. This month I used 2 full bath bombs. I tend to break them up and get at least three uses out of one bath bomb.

1.   ELF Soothing Serum- I did not see much of a difference when using this product on my skin. To me it just turned into a moisturizer in the day time. It reminds me a little bit of my gel formula moisturizer from Clinique. This product is marketed as a soothing serum it did not feel like a serum to me.

1.   L.A. Colors Dramati Lash in Dolly 973- I brought these for my Halloween look that will be going up after this post.  I was not a fan of these at all. I felt like the band was very thin and since I am a beginner it was very hard to work with.  

1.   L’Oreal Cushion Foundation in the Shade W3 Nude Beige- I received this sample in my Target beauty box and decided to use it. I really did not find much of a difference between this foundation and the normal True Match which is way cheaper. If I receive this product again in a subscription box I will use it again but I do not see myself picking up this product unless I get it on sale because I refuse to pay full price for the amount of product that comes in the full size.

1.   ELF Brow Pencil in the shade 21721 Taupe- This is one of my favorite brow pencils from the drugstore. It is very affordable and gets the job done. I have one on hand at all times.

1.   Stila Lip Glaze in the shade D2 Pink Orchid- This was a sticky lip gloss but I did not mind it. I loved the shade it left on my lips since it was a light pink with shimmer . It was one of those easy products that even without putting a whole face on I could wear and look some what put together.

1.   Josie Maran Bear Naked Wipes – I wasn’t a big fan of these makeup remover wipes. I liked they way they felt on my face but they did not take all my makeup off. I found that I was using these and then I would have to use a makeup remover in liquid form. I’m not sure if my pack was a little bit dried out. I also realized that they work best with the Josie Maran cleansing oil but on their own they were not getting off my makeup.

1.   Nuance Salma Hayek Glow Facial Oil- I received a sample of this oil that I ended up using on my weekend getaway this month. I enjoyed the product and I also realized that my face was not left greasy after using this product since some oils can leave the skin feeling greasy but that was not the case here. It is also a oil that is easy to find since it is sold at CVS.

1.   ELF Foundation Serum in the shade Light/Medium- This was a great light weight foundation for the summer time. I liked the fact that it had spf of 25 but also did not break out my skin. It was very easy to use and I didn’t even have to set it with powder if I didn’t want to.

2.   Maybelline Fit Me ! Concealer in the shade 10 Light- This is one of my holy grail concealers. It is creamy and easy to blend out and this shade is great for brightening up under the eye and highlighting all over the face.

2.   NYX Auto Eyebrow Pencil in the shade EP03 Medium Brown- This product ended up drying out on me before I could use it all up. I never found this product easy to work with and the shade I had was more of a red tone brown which did not match me well. I would have to use this product conjunction with a powder to have my brows match my hair color.

2.   Essence Make me brow in the shade 02 browny brows- This product reminds me a lot of benefits give me brow . I feel like this product is the dupe but since I have not used that product since they repackaged and reformulated it. I recent picked up the new formulated one and will give it a go. I will leave you guys posted on if I feel like it is a dupe or not in a dupe post that is coming soon. I have to repurchase this product because it was easy to use and I didn’t even have to shade in my brows if I didn’t want to because it gave use enough coverage on its own .
